I’m glad he has friends who care about him. *stands awkwardly with the boxes for a little while*

I should go.

All right. It was good to run into you, Bobbi.

*looks down at Deedee* Come on, girl. Time to go upstairs.

*Deedee yawns up at her, then gets up and starts following her at a rather sedate pace* *apparently playing with Arrow’s made her very sleepy*

*heads to the elevator and punches in her floor*

cracksmashbobbi:

*laughs* I think you’re right. *picks up the boxes again once the leads are untangled* I need to get these to the carrier. *hesitates*

Thanks. For not chewing me out. I mean… I know I deserve it but it’s a pleasant surprise when it doesn’t happen.

*takes a firm grip on Deedee’s lead; the helhound flops on the ground at her feet, panting* *she’s apparently worn herself out*

You’ve probably gotten enough of that, I would guess. And, you know, you brought Clint back. 

cracksmashbobbi:

*Bobbi’s face turns grim* No, there wasn’t. 

I’ll see how he settles in, then we can have a grill up on the roof. A few of the neighbors seem to think we live communally, and I know they’d love to meet some real life avengers. They don’t believe Clint when he tells them he is one.

There’s a guy who keeps asking if he’s Iron Fist. *Bobbi rolls her eyes* I told Clint he should say yes, but for some reason he’s wildly offended by the comparison. *chuckles*

I can say almost for certain that Steve would be up for a barbecue. And I’m sure *smiles with a touch of exasperation at the helhounds, who have managed to tangle their leashes together terribly* that our dogs would love to see each other again.

*stoops down and starts trying to untangle the leads*

*looks at the boxes, then at the dogs* Hey, if you want to come by and visit once Clint’s back I know he’d appreciate it. He said you two got on well. *Bobbi’s eyes twinkle* *she suspects Clint would have flirted OUTRAGEOUSLY with Jan*

We didn’t really get a chance to show everyone around the apartment after we moved in. It’s a nice place, if you can avoid the landlords.

I would love to see him. I’ve missed him, and there really…*there’s a slight hesitation in how she speaks, but she covers it well*…wasn’t much time, between when I came back and when…well. There wasn’t much time. 

cracksmashbobbi:

*nods* Yep. 

You’re good people, Janet. You and the Captain. *her smile turns a bit sad* I hope you make sure you’re good to each other as well as everyone else.

*gives her a similar, soft smile back* We try. It’s not easy, you know, working a relationship around this job. But I think we’re doing all right so far.

cracksmashbobbi:

*rubs her face* I think…. well he WILL be ready, and I’m being an ass, suggesting he won’t be.

I guess I’m kind of over-protective of him right now. *grins and shrugs* 

*smiles warmly at her* I think that’s only natural. God knows that I have my share of over-protective feelings after something awful happens to Steve.

We’ll figure out if he’s ready or not and go from there, okay?

cracksmashbobbi:

Yeah. And I want to help with that, as much as I can. 

There’s only so much New York can take, right? Lucky the Avengers are about to help.

Speaking of which… Clint’s going to want to come back on duty straight away if I know him. Uh… I might need some back up if he’s not ready. He’ll listen to Rogers, and to you, probably more than he will to me, if you get my drift.

Not to say he’s not going to be ready… it’s just…

…he won’t admit it if he isn’t. Does that make sense to you?

*gives her a level look* Yes, that does make sense. And if he’s really not ready…we’ll see what we can do.

But sometimes it can be helpful just to jump back into things. Doesn’t work for everyone, but…well. We’ll see when it comes down to it. If he’s really insistent on getting back to work but not ready, there’s always monitor duty.

cracksmashbobbi:

Yeah, that was my thinking too. They’re not stupid, just…

…obsessed. And when it got down to it there were a lot more of them than we’d been able to ferret out. We made the mistake of thinking that big ship in the Savage Lands was the majority of their replacements… look how wrong we were there.

*sighs again* It’s done now. I’m hoping that’ll be the end of the alien troubles, at least for a little while. SWORD can relax a bit. *smiles* 

I hope so, too. I have my doubts, though - but maybe we’ll get some peace long enough for us all to regroup. Rebuild, as it was.

*her smile gets wider* Thanks, van Dyne. I didn’t… Well I knew a lot of people would be angry with the way it went down but I wasn’t…

*shakes her head* I didn’t want the Council deciding Clint was expendable. I’m sorry people got hurt…

…*shakes her head* But truth is, they were going to be any way. Maria saw it my way too, in the end. I’m just glad they’re not putting heat on Tasha or Kate as well. 

I only wish we’d had a little more warning before the serum was deployed - enough time to get teams out to high profile sites. But with the number of skrulls that were out there? Too much forewarning would have increased the chance for them to find out what we were doing.

cracksmashbobbi:

*Bobbi makes a face and nods* Yeah… for some reason SHIELD doesn’t trust me too much at the moment. They want all my toys where they can see them. 

*spreads her hands* Can hardly blame them. And now that my work with Dr Ross is finished I can’t complain either, the labs up there are just as nice as the ones here, plus which… flying. *winks*

*nods; she gets why SHIELD is cross with Bobbi* *truth be told, she’s still a little upset over how things went down*

*but*

*Bobbi got Clint back. So she’s not inclined to stay angry forever*

The serum seemed like it worked as planned. It was very good work, Agent Morse.
